What is Share the Music Miami?

Founded by Miami local, Vivian Torres, a professional violist and music educator, Share the Music Miami is an organization built by musicians for musicians. But that’s not all.

We are an up and coming organization that specializes in connecting students to highly skilled local music instructors in the Miami area. Almost equally impressive is the fact that, since its inception, our organization has donated 1% of every lesson to a local non-profit organization.

What exactly has Share the Music Miami done for Miami?

In May of 2017 as part of our Helping Hands Award program, we chose to give back to the community by donating to  Greater Miami Youth Symphony’s Preparatory Classes. GMYS Prep program aims to introduce the joys of playing music to children throughout Miami-Dade County. GMYS is a total community project dedicated to providing training for musicians between 5 and 18 years of age, where instruments are provided for each child. Share the Music recognized the importance of the work GMYS does, and chose to highlight this by donating $715, 8 violins and 1 viola to their program.

Our 2018 Helping Hands Award went to Musicall’s Summer Camp, a program that provides children’s summer music education. Musicall believes in the importance of music in the life of every child, embodying their mission to make music education accessible to all children. Since many of Musicall’s registered campers were having difficulty affording camp tuition, our $882 donation sponsored scholarships for almost six students to attend one week of camp. This is all thanks to Share the Music students, parents, and teachers!

What makes our lessons different from other music schools?

Share the Music lessons not only provide the necessary one-on-one guidance needed for musicians but they also help generate funds to support local organizations in the arts. In addition to lessons we also host performance opportunities and help promote and encourage our students to participate in local competitions and events in Miami. Check out our calendar for details!

In the eyes of Share the Music, music has the ability to create change in the community and in the lives of those who experience it. Music has the power to heal, inspire new ways of being and foster genuine human connection. We believe in the importance of generosity and support of our local community through the power of music and we are eager to collaborate with others who feel the same way. In order to make a lasting impact, we want to hear from our community—so Miami, please reach out! Lets find a way to work together!

Whether you’re a student looking to learn a new instrument, a parent of a child or an adult looking for lessons, or a resident of Miami who is looking to donate to a meaningful cause, Share the Music Miami has plenty of inspiration to go around.
