A native of Miami, Rebecca Longtemps is an active music instructor and vocalist. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Vocal Performance from Florida International University and Florida State University. At an early age, she developed an interest and aptitude for music, first at the piano and then through singing with the Miami Children’s Chorus.
She has been a two-time finalist in the southeast regional NATS vocal competitions and is a registered teacher with the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She has performed as a soloist with ensembles such as FIU Wind Symphony, FIU Symphony Orchestra, FIU Camerata, Camerata del Puerto Orchestra, Opera Louisiane, Theatre Baton Rouge, and Florida Grand Opera Young Artists.
Recent performances include a live hour of music performed on 88.9 FM WDNA Jazz Radio, reading and recording of a new musical production by Ginsberg Productions and performances with a Miami based professional choral ensemble, Celestial. Rebecca has over 7 years of experience teaching voice and piano lessons both privately and with organizations in Louisiana such as Acadiana Symphony Conservatory of Music and Centre for the Arts and in Miami, she has taught with Hess Conservatory of Music, Miami Music Works, Musician’s Discount Center, and Greater Miami Youth Symphony. Her students have been selected for Florida All-State and ACDA competitions. She is a Steinway Educational Partner and currently teaches from her private studio and after school at Gulliver Academy and is an active vocalist.
